Welcome to the St. John West Shore Hospital EMS Web site!
We are now a designated Level 3 TRAUMA CENTER. With an In-House Trauma Team including an ATLS certified Surgeon and subspecialty back up available, we are able to accept all Trauma patients.
With our new 12 LEAD EKG RECEIVING STATION, you can now send us 12 lead EKG's as you transport patients to the ER. This will allow us to "see" your patient even before you arrive in the ER and potentially alert the Catheterization Lab and the Interventional Cardiologist to be ready when you arrive. Our door to cath lab times are already much faster than the national average and this will allow us to be even more efficient. We expect this state of the art system will be a tremendous life-saving resource.

Thank you for taking the time to visit St. John West Shore Hospital’s web site dedicated to the EMS community. Weare pleased to share with our EMS community an upgraded web site designed to offer you continued education opportunities, event listings and the latest news, locally and nationally, on emergency medicine and patient care.
Our goal is to provide you with timely information on current SJWS events, to keep you informed of changes in state and federal laws, and to offer you information on new WESHARE protocols. In addition, the site will host a variety of informative pages focusing on local squads and any news from our partner, University Hospitals Health System.
Most importantly, our site will continue to offer CME credits online, accompanying a presentation with a test. If you are a verified user, you can take the test online, and receive a certificate immediately. Every other month, we’ll address new CME topics with regular updates on teaching classes (PALS, ACLS, and BLS). We'll also provide information about social events, such as the golf outing and a summer cruise. And, periodically we'll feature a new squad with photographs and a brief history.
As always, we are receptive to any suggestions --- just e-mail us with questions or feedback about transport issues, run reviews or any other topics.
